(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 49 year old from South Huron is facing an Impaired Care & Control charge after he was arrested early 10May by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). At approximately 7:14 a.m. Huron OPP officers received information from two concerned motorists that the driver of a BMW sedan was stopped in the live southbound lane of traffic on Babylon Line north of Mount Carmel Drive.
Within a few minutes a Huron OPP officer arrived on scene to investigate. The investigating officer was able to determine the male was in care and control of the motor vehicle and his ability to drive was impaired by alcohol.
The driver was then placed under arrest for Impaired Care & Control and transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both of his tests were over the legal limit.
As a result, 49 year old Glen PENNER from Crediton has been charged with Impaired Care & Control and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He now has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on June 25, 2015. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
