(NAPANEE, ON) – On March 11, 2016 at approximately 8:15 am, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Highway 401.
The OPP Communications Centre in Smiths Falls received several reports from other motorists about the vehicle and the driving behaviour.
The white, 2016 Hyundai Elantra was stopped. The 26 year-old driver, Inderjit GILL of Brampton, ON, was charged with Dangerous Driving contrary to the Criminal Code and Racing contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The vehicle was towed.
