Gerald BIERLING – Theft, Breach

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have arrested and charged a 38 year old male with theft after he was caught in possession of a parking lot sign.

On September 16, 2014 at 12:57 a.m. Huron County OPP officers observed a male travelling southbound on Main Street in Exeter on a tricycle. Officers also observed the male to be carrying a large metal parking sign under his arm. Police briefly lost sight of the male as he went around a corner. When the male emerged he was no longer carrying the sign. Officers were able to locate the parking lot sign and were able to confirm it had been stolen from a local business.

Officers arrested the male for theft and a subsequent check on the male revealed he was currently serving two probation sentences with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result, 38 year old Gerald BIERLING from South Huron has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He has a court appearance scheduled for October 30, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.
