(THUNDER BAY, ON) – In June of 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an investigation regarding allegations of historical sexual assaults which had occurred between 1997 and 2007 within the City of Thunder Bay and Warnica Lake (Jacques Township). Assisted by Thunder Bay Police Service, the investigation resulted in the identification of three male victims and the subsequent arrest of a male from Thunder Bay on Thursday December 19, 2013.
On February 12, 2014 as the result of further investigation, Gary Bruce LAMONT (52 years of age) was re-arrested and now faces additional charges contrary to the Criminal Code:
– Two counts of Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm
– Two counts of Sexual Assault
– One count of Sexual Assault with a Weapon
There are a number of male victims relating to these offences and they were between the ages of 17 and 24 years at the time.
The accused has been remanded into custody since his arrest in December 2013 and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay February 13, 2014.
