(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On November 25, 2015 at 7:28 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a train/motor vehicle collision on Kings Highway 11 in the Township of Chapple. A 2004 Fuel Truck collided with an East bound freight train. As a result of the collision the fuel truck erupted in flames. The driver, a resident of Minnesota as well as the train crew suffered no injuries in the collision.
Emergency services attended the scene and extinguished the fire.
As a result Kings Highway 11 is closed, an alternate route has been established, more information will be released as it becomes available.
The incident is currently under investigation.
