Four Youths Arrested

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a number of charges as a result of an investigation into an incident that occurred in Hudson, Ontario during the early morning hours of July 13, 2015.

At approximately 5:49 am officers were dispatched to Hudson after a complainant contacted police with respect to an attempt break and enter to her residence on Second Street in Hudson.

Police arrived at 6:01 am and arrested a female youth who was located near the residence. The other three youths had fled. The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) as well as local detachment members responded and established a perimeter to ensure the safety of residents and to search for the suspects. The OPP Canine unit was also dispatched. The three outstanding youths were all subsequently located and taken into custody.

While officers were on scene it came to light that the same group of suspects had broken into at least one other home in Hudson. A vehicle was also damaged.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male currently residing in Lac Seul First Nation has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

· Assault with a Weapon

· Break and Enter x 3

· Trespassing at Night x 4

The accused has also been charged with Fail to Comply with Sentence x 2 contrary to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He is currently being held for a bail hearing July 14, 2015.

A 14-year-old male from Lac Seul First Nation was charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

· Break and Enter

· Trespassing at Night x 2

· Theft Under $5000

The accused has been released from custody and will attend Sioux Lookout Court on August 11, 2015.

A 12-year-old female from Lac Seul First Nation was charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:

· Break and Enter x 2

· Trespassing at Night x 2

· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (under $5000)

The accused was released from custody and will attend Sioux Lookout Court on August 11, 2015.
