Four vehicle collision results in injuries

On the 16th of December 2013 just before 1:00pm The Owen Sound Police, Fire and Ambulance were called to attend a four vehicle collision at the corner of 16th Street East and 16th Avenue East Owen Sound.

The investigation revealed that a 66 year old Owen Sound female operating 2012 Toyota heading west bound failed to stop for a red light and collided with a 2008 Pontiac operated by a 31 year old female who had been travelling south bound. The collision caused the Pontiac to be pushed back into the front end of a transport truck which had been stopped for the red light. The Toyota after striking the Pontiac struck a Jeep which had also been stopped at the red light.

The 66 year old female was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with; Red light fail to stop.

The 31 year old driver of the Pontiac was transported to hospital by ambulance with what was believed to be minor injuries.

The Toyota and Pontiac were heavily damaged and were towed from the scene. Traffic was interrupted for approximately 1 hour while the scene was investigated.
