Four Arrested At Munro Motel – Drugs And Handguns Seized

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On October 4, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) conducted an investigation into parties from southern Ontario suspected of dealing drugs in the Thunder Bay area.

As a result of this investigation police arrested four people at the Munro Motel on Munro Street in Thunder Bay and seized one handgun, a quantity of cash, and controlled drugs and substances including 0.4 grams of suspected cannabis resin, 12.2 grams of marihuana, 7.3 grams of suspected heroin, 29 grams of suspected cocaine, 18.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and 6 and a half suspected Percocet pills.

Jeron BECKFORD, age 22, of Scarborough, Ontario, has been charged with:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm, contrary to section 9(1) of the Criminal Code

Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Fail to Comply with Recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code

Zachary COLLINS, age 25, of Scarborough, Ontario, has been charged with:

Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Brittney COOK, age 20, of Cobourg, Ontario, has been charged with:

Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Joseph SINCLAIR STEWART, age 19, of Scarborough, Ontario, has been charged with:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 345(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

BECKFOORD, COLLINS, COOK, and SINCLAIR STEWART were held at the Thunder Bay OPP detachment for a bail hearings on the morning of October 5, 2018.
