(COLBORNE, ON) –On December 26, 2014 (4:00pm) Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called by the Cramahe Township Fire Department to attend an apartment fire on King Street in Colborne.
The fire had been extinguished once officers arrived. Police noted evidence of drug use in the apartment and are still attempting to locate the occupants who might or might not have witnessed the fire. Due to this fact, it is unknown if there were any injuries sustained by anyone.
Cramahe Fire Chief, Brandon Northrup advised police that the source of the fire appears to have been on a cooking element in the kitchen area and that the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office was consulted. Chief Northrup was unable to estimate the total damages caused by the fire but did state it was mostly smoke damage.
The OPP continue to investigate the incident.
