(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Sunday, November 2, 2014 at approximately 9:04 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a house fire on Portland Street, Shallow Lake, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Police, Grey County Emergency Services and the Inter-Township Fire Department attended and found that the rear portion of the house was destroyed by the fire. The house contained two separate apartments.
Investigation revealed that one of the tenants was cooking French fries, when the oil used burst into flames starting the fire.
Both tenants evacuated their apartments without injury.
The Inter-Township Fire Department is investigating the incident.
