North Huron council is pushing through spending millions on getting “Hutton Heights” ready for a subdivision. In case you don’t know where it is, it is right next door to the sewage lagoon. Hence the name Lagoonaville for the proposed development.
If you always wanted waterfront property and can’t afford it, why not settle for a lake of fermenting sewage instead. Maybe you are a retired farmer and miss the smell of manure in the morning, why not live by a sewage lagoon? Maybe you don’t like company, and living next to an open septic tank is a great way to discourage visitors. Maybe you are just tired of farting and pulling the covers over your head to simulate living next to sewage. Then maybe Lagoonaville is for you after all!
In short, council is betting millions of your money that people would love to live adjacent to a sewage lagoon, unless you speak up now to stop the waste and abuse. Of course there is still no money for Howson Dam, potholes, sidewalk clearing, sidewalk weeds, crumbling roads and infrastructure. There was money for TVs and raises for council and Lagoonaville consulting fees” though.
