Fatal Collision In North Perth – Name Withheld Pending Next Of Kin Notification

(ATWOOD, ON) – On May 12, 2019 at approximately 11:55 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, Perth County Paramedic Services and North Perth Fire Department responded to the scene of a collision involving a single motor vehicle into a tree.

The collision involved a pickup travelling west on Perth Line 75 in between Road 166 and Road 169, north of Atwood in the Municipality of North Perth.

The lone occupant of the pickup, a 68-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The section of Line 75 in between Road 166 and Road 169 has been closed for several hours as OPP Traffic Technical Collision Investigators (TTCI) were called to assist at the scene.

Motorists are asked to respect the road closures while first responders remain on scene.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Perth County OPP.
