At approximately 3:15 p.m., a cement truck was travelling west bound on Riverside Drive approaching Wharncliffe Road North. The truck attempted to turn north bound on to Wharncliffe Road North when it struck a female cyclist who was also travelling west bound.
A 19 year old female has been transported to hospital with critical injuries.
The intersection will be closed for two to three hours while the Traffic Management Unit investigates the collision.
Police urge drivers to avoid this area until the investigation is complete.
