(MONO, ON) – On Friday, September 16, 2016 at 8:30 am, officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Caledon and Mono Fire Services and EMS were called to a fatal single motor vehicle rollover collision on Airport Road.
Preliminary investigation by Dufferin OPP officers has revealed that the male driver was travelling southbound on Airport Road and then entered the east ditch rolling over several times. Right now, police do not believe that speed was a contributing factor.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
The road will remain closed for several hours between Hockley Road and 20th Side road while OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) attends the scene to provide assistance with the investigation.
Police are not releasing the identity of the driver until next of kin have been notified. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
