(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON.) – Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the assistance of OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are investigating a fatal single motor vehicle collision. The collision occurred on Highway 65 approximately six kilometers south of Highway 66 in Kimberley Township. The incident was reported to police at approximately 10:00 a.m. on April 15, 2015.
The vehicle involved is a 2002 Mack tractor trailer white in colour. The driver was the lone involved person in the collision. The tractor trailer was northbound on Highway 65 when for an undetermined reason the vehicle veered off the road and rolled. The vehicle came to rest in the northbound ditch.
The male driver of the tractor trailer was fatally injured and has been positively identified as Jason SAVARD age 34 of Val Caron, Ontario.
Assisting at the scene were the Kirkland Lake Fire Department, the Kenogami Volunteer Fire Department and the Matachewan Volunteer Fire Department. The investigation into the cause of the collision continues.
