(Nipigon, ON) – Early on Sunday, September 13, 2015, Officers from the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a structure fire on First Street in the Town of Nipigon. Nipigon Fire Department was able to contain the fire to a single residence that was badly damaged due to the smoke and flames.
Upon officers arrival Nipigon Fire Department had located two deceased persons in the residence. The two individuals were identified as the residence owners whose names are being withheld until the next of kin can be notified.
OPP continue to hold the scene to assist the Office of the Fire Marshall in completing their investigation.
