(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that has taken place south of Belmore at the intersection of Howick-Turnberry Road (County Road #7) and Belmore Line (County Road #12).
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and the area Fire Department responded to the crash scene after receiving a 9-1-1 call from a witness.
The preliminary investigation has determined the driver of a small sedan was travelling northbound on Belmore Line when he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle left the roadway on the east side, struck a culvert and rolled several times. The driver/lone occupant was ejected from the vehicle.
He was transported from the scene to a local hospital however he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators from the West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) Team are currently on scene assisting with the collision investigation.
The identity of the deceased will be released pending next of kin notification.
This intersection is currently closed for the police investigation. OPP have road closure barricades set up at the following locations: Belmore Line & Salem Road, Howick-Turnberry Road & Kieffer Line, Belmore Line & Glenannon Road and Howick-Turnberry Road & Forest Line.
