(Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a serious collision on Highway 7 between Burnham Line and Old Keene Road Friday night just before 10:00pm.
A westbound Pontiac Bonneville crossed the centre line, for unknown reasons, and collided head-on with an eastbound Ford F150.
The driver of the Bonneville was identified as Max Isaiah MIDDLETON, (age 19) of Douro-Dummer Township, and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Ford F150 was treated and released from Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) with minor injuries.
The roadway was closed for several hours while members of the OPP Highway Safety Division assisted Peterborough County OPP with reconstruction of the collision scene.
