Fatal Collision Near Wonderland Road – Driver Charged

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Charges have been laid in a fatal motor vehicle collision.

At approximately 3:04 p.m. on June 27, 2016, the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 402 east bound, near Wonderland Road, in the City of London, Ontario.

Two tractor trailers and two motor vehicles were involved in the collision. All of the vehicles were travelling eastbound on Highway 402.

A green Volvo tractor trailer struck a grey Ford car. The driver of the car, 34-year-old Jonathan WRIGHT, from London, Ontario, died at the scene. 5 other people involved in the collision were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the police investigation, the driver of the green tractor trailer, 52-year-old Jamas BROWN, from Oxford County, Ontario, has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and four counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle cause bodily harm, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on December 12, 2016.
