Fatal Collision Highway 37

(BELLEVILLE, ON) – Last night at approximately 10:00PM Belleville Police and Central Hastings OPP Detachment Officers responded to a report of a collision on Highway 37 where a south bound Mazda Van crossed the center line of the roadway and struck a north bound ford Pickup truck just south of Wiser Rd.

The 55-year-old Quebec male driver of the Van was deceased at the scene, the 5 passengers in the van were from various locations throughout Quebec and eastern Ontario. Of all the passengers, injuries were minor except for one that was airlifted to hospital with severe injuries the others were treated at local hospitals. The driver of the pick-up ,46 of the Roslin area, was treated and released from hospital.

The highway was closed for approximately 8 hours while Central Hastings Detachment members assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) examined the scene. Investigation is continuing.
