(NORTH FRONTENAC TOWNSHIP) – On the 10th of December 2016 at approximately 9:40 pm, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with emergency services responded to a single vehicle collision on Ardoch Road between Lodge Road and Crotch Lake Access Road in North Frontenac Township.
A passerby noticed tire tracks on the roadway leading into the north ditch and observed taillights from a red Ford Pick-up that came to rest against a tree. With the assistance of an off-duty firefighter they located the driver who had been ejected from the vehicle.
The lone male driver 63–year –old Richard Allen HERNS of Central Frontenac Township was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) was responded to the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
