(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are on the scene of a single motor vehicle collision approximately 20 kilometers west of Vermilion Bay. Police received the report of the crash involving a single tractor trailer unit (TTU) just before 6:30 am on Friday December 12, 2014.
The OPP have confirmed that the driver of the TTU has died at the scene. The passenger has been transported to the hospital with non-life threating injuries.
The incident is under investigation by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and Highway 17 now open to one lane. The O.P.P. will distribute details and updates of the road advisory as information becomes available.
