(Marmora, ON) – On May 13, 2015 at 4:20 a.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a home invasion on Forsyth Street in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake. The complainant advised that two suspects forced their way into his apartment, assaulted him and then fled the scene.
Consequently EMS, OPP Canine Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team and Central Hastings Detachment Crime Unit members attended the scene. The area was searched with negative results.
The investigation revealed the complainant made a false report to police and none of the alleged events had occurred.
On May 16, 2015 fifty-one year old Ronald HOLNESS of Marmora, ON was arrested and charged with Public Mischief. He will appear in Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville on June 11, 2015.
