Fail to remain collision

Police received a call from a driver that had been driving on Bayfield Street at the Highway 400 when he was sideswiped by another vehicle. The vehicle continued without stopping.

The complainant followed the suspect flashing his lights to get the driver to stop. The suspect finally pulled over in Springwater Township.

Police arrived and determined that the driver had been drinking. He was arrested for driving over 80 mgs and taken to the station for breath tests where he blew twice the legal limit. A 38 year old male was charged with the criminal offence and released with a future court date. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days and his licence suspended for 90 days.
