(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Saturday, September 28, 2013 at approximately 7:36 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an erratic driver operating a 2001 Chrysler Intrepid vehicle southbound on Hwy. 10, south of Holland Centre, in the Township of Chatsworth.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Toronto Street, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The officer observed an open can of beer in the centre console as well as an open case of beer on the front passenger floor of the vehicle.
After failing a road side breath test, the lone driver was arrested and taken to the Markdale Detachment for further breath tests. The results indicated he had consumed more than the legal limit of alcohol.
Marco DACOSTA, 40, of Toronto, Ontario, is charged with over 80 milligrams. He was also charged with possession of cannabis resin – over 1 gram, and possession of cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, October 10, 2013.
