(CALEDON, ON) – On Saturday, August 3, 2013 just before 1:30 p.m. a concerned citizen contacted the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a possible impaired driver travelling southbound on Albion Vaughan Road in the Village of Bolton. Moments later, officers received information that the suspect vehicle, a white Dodge Dakota, had been involved in a motor vehicle collision just outside the Caledon OPP boundary, in York Region. Officers attended the scene and located the motor vehicle and the driver that was standing beside his motor vehicle. Upon approaching the male driver, the officers found the driver to be impaired by alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Eric K. MAW, 31, of Kleinburg was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused will make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 26, 2013.
