(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently charged a male motorist for drinking and driving as a result of a traffic complaint in Collingwood.
On the 2nd of September 2015 shortly before 10:00pm, officers received information about a possible impaired driver on Highway 26 near Harbour Street in Collingwood. Police located the vehicle near Gun Club Road and interactions with the driver found that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was subjected to a road side breath test which resulted in a ‘fail’ reading and led to his arrest and transport to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 75 year-old Earl CAIRNS of Collingwood, he is facing a charge of driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood and is to appear in Collingwood court on the 22nd of September.
