(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in the driver facing numerous charges.
On April 26, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Alma Street in Omemee and subsequently stopped the vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
As a result of the investigation Dwayne HADDLESEY, 45 years of age, of Omemee, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.
Further investigation revealed the presence of marihuana and unmarked cigarettes. The accused was also charged with these offences and will appear in court, in Lindsay, on May 22, 2014.
