Just before 3am the police were called to the area of the 400 block of 7th Ave East, Owen Sound regarding a north bound vehicle that had struck a parked car. The impact caused the travelling vehicle to rollover coming to rest on its roof in the middle of the roadway. Both vehicles received extensive damage.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene for having over the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. Breath samples taken from the driver revealed that he had actually more than double the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.
The 22yr old Owen Sound man was charged criminally with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The driver will appear later this month in court to answer to the charge.
Fortunately, there were no injuries as a result of the collision.
