(HURON EAST, ON) – A traffic stop on August 4, 2014 at 8:33 p.m. led to an arrest and criminal charges being laid against a 22 year old male from West Perth. Officers spotted a vehicle parked behind a gas station located on Goderich Street West in Seaforth and checked on the two occupants. Officers spoke with the occupants in the vehicle and upon doing so they discovered a male passenger was in possession of an illegal drug.
Officers later confirmed the male is currently bound by court release conditions to abstain from the possession of drugs. He is also serving a probation sentence with one of his conditions of release to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
As a result, Christopher JOHNSTON, 22, from West Perth has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Drug, Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
He remains in custody with a video court appearance scheduled for August 7, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
