At 3:35 AM on December 22, Police were alerted to a vehicle that had gone off the road near the Wingham Legion on Victoria St. Police attended and observed a vehicle caught up on the guide wires and the driver was attempting to get it moving again.
The driver, a 47 year old Wingham woman was arrested and transported to Walkerton where she provided samples of her breath resulting in readings of over the legal limit. Janice Schmidt of Wingham is charged with care and control while impaired by alcohol, care and control with over 80 mgs of alcohol in her blood and breach of probation. She is to appear in court in January.
