(NAPANEE, ON)- On Sunday, November 23rd, 2014 at 4:00 a.m. and officer with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police performing traffic enforcement noticed a vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 401 at a high rate of speed.
While the officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the driver turned off his lights and tried to evade the officer by exiting on Deseronto Road.
The vehicle, a 2009 vehicle was located on McAlpine Road after failing to stop for several stop signs.
The driver of the vehicle, a 30 year old was subsequently charged with over 80 mgs and dangerous driving contrary to the Criminal Code. He also faces a stunt driving charge contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in Provincial court on December 9th.
