(LONDON, ON) – Just when you think you’ve heard It all, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members engaged in another Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) initiative near Glencoe Ontario located an impaired driver hauling a backhoe.
Just before 9:00 a.m. today, OPP stopped a CMV hauling a backhoe with its safety chains blowing in the wind! Upon further investigation by police, the driver was found to be operating the motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration well over the legal limit.
57-year-old Garry VANERHEUVEL of Dorchester Ontario is charged with;
Operate a motor vehicle – Over 80 mgs – Section 253(1)(b) C.C.
Fail to Surrender Completed Daily Inspection Report – Section 107(7) H.T.A.
Fail to Surrender CVOR Certificate – Section 16(4) H.T.A.
Insecure Load – CMV (Truck) – Section 111(2) H.T.A.
Insecure Load – CMV (Trailer) – Section 111(2) H.T.A.
The accused is scheduled to appear in Court on May 26, 2016 in London Ontario to answer to the charges.
