(Alnwick Haldimand TWP, ON) – On Thursday July 30th members of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau –Drug Enforcement Section (OCEB-DES), OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) with the assistance of the OPP Aviation Services and OPP Forensic Identifcation Services executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants on 3 properties in Alnwick Haldimand Twp, Northumberland County, Ontario.
Northumberland OPP uniform and Street Response Team (SRT) members also assisted with the CDSA search warrants executed at addresses on Telephone Road, County Road 23 and County Road 31 where 8 people have been arrested. Officers located a total of 64 Green houses that were being utilized to grow marihuana plants. Officers seized 5227 well cared for marihuana plants, 10 pounds of marihuana shake, 1 pound of cannabis Resin, $900 Cash, documents and a computer. Officers also seized a suspected prohibited handgun at one location. The estimated street value of the drug seizure is $3,000,000.
Daniel CHAN (male) 33yrs, Jian-Guo DONG (male) 61yrs, Nirujan GNANAGUNALAN (male) 28yrs Syeeramana MANISEKHAIAN (male) 30yrs, Wensheng ZHENG (male) 62yrs, Lyong HAUNG (male) 57yrs, Zhongqiang HUANG (male) 59yrs, and Mufa HUANG (male) 66yrs all of the Greater Toronto Area have been charged with Production of Schedule ll substance (cannabis marihuana) and are being held for a Bail Hearing.
