DRUG WARRANT EXECUTED

(PORT HOPE, ON) – On Tuesday September 16, 2014 members of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Section (OCEB-DES), RCMP Criminal Organization Marihuana Enforcement Team (COMET) and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant on a large farm property on the 7th Line of the Municipality of Port Hope.

Northumberland OPP uniform and Street Response Team (SRT) members assisted with the CDSA search warrant on the farm property where three people were arrested. Officers located a large outdoor marihuana grow operation and seized 894 well cared for marihuana plants, 1 pound of marihuana bud, a 2000 Honda Civic, 2003 Cube van along with grow equipment and cell phones. The estimated street value of the drug seizure is $890,000.00

Shun Guan ZHOU (male), age 52, Yi Lin ZHANG (female) age 62, and Kun Guan ZHENG (male) age 60 have been charged with Production of Schedule ll substance (cannabis marihuana) under the CDSA. All three are residents of the Municipality of Port Hope.

All three accused have been released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday November 12th 2014 in Cobourg, Ontario at 9:30 am.
