(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Central Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) with the assistance of front line officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the OPP conducted a search warrant at a residence on Birch Street yesterday evening in Collingwood.
The search warrant yielded approximately 470 grams of marihuana, 80 grams of hashish, a small amount of cocaine and 5 marihuana plants. Officers also seized various weapons and arrested two males who have now been charged with a slew of criminal offences.
Charged are 28 year-old Derek MILLER of Brampton, he is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x3, production of a controlled substance and failing to comply with probation order. Charged as well is 24 year-old Christopher WASHINGTON of Collingwood, he is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x3 and production of a controlled substance.
They are to appear in Collingwood court on the 4th of February 2014.
