(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – On Friday May 6, 2016, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), with the assistance of the Bruce Peninsula OPP, the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and West Region Canine Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on 21 Highway, on Saugeen First Nation.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant Police seized cannabis marihuana, methamphetamine, heroin and morphine. Police also seized offence related property that consisted of trafficking paraphernalia, cell phones and Canadian currency. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances was $10,733.00.
The combined estimated value of the offence related property was $1,780.00.
Jamie Gagnon, 37, of Saugeen First Nation and Jordyn Carson, 19, of Owen Sound are each charged with possession of heroin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis marihuana under 30 grams and possession of morphine.
Jamie GAGNON and Jordyn CARSON were both held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for May 9, 2016 at the Walkerton Court of Justice.
