(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) –During the month of August 2016 members of the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged the following individuals for drug related offences:
August 17, 2016 – Northumberland OPP and the OPP Central East Drug Unit executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) warrant at an address in the Municipality of Trent Hills. A quantity of cannabis marihuana and plants were seized. Michael DOUGLASS age 43 of Trent Hills, ON is charged with Produce a Schedule II substance – cannabis marihuana and Possession of a Schedule II substance for purpose of Trafficking – under 3kg. He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 12, 2016.
August 20, 2016 – Northumberland OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on Queen Street in Campbellford at 10:00pm. As a result of the ensuing investigation, a quantity of methamphetamine (crystal meth) was seized. Edward MCCORMICK age 24 of Campbellford, ON is charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking and Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 12, 2016.
August 25, 2016 – Northumberland OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck on Grand Road in Campbellford at 10:16pm. As a result of the ensuing investigation a quantity of cannabis marihuana, cocaine and cannabis resin was seized. The driver, Nicholas CARLETON age 25 of Seymour Twp, ON and passenger, Mitchell BELL age 18 of Hastings, ON are both charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and two counts of Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking – under 3kg. Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 12, 2016.
