(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 31, 2014 at approximately 11:00 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic along Wellington County Road 109 east of Wellington Road 6, Wellington North Township. The officer observed a 2000 Chevrolet driving well above the posted speed limit of 80 km/h. A male driver was spoken with and during the conversation; he verbally provided a false identification. During the investigation it was learned that he was not to be driving a motor vehicle, and also was on probation by the court.
Sasa RANKOVIC age 31 of Brampton has been charged with Drive While Disqualified, Obstruct Police, and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order, all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is also charged with speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 28, 2014 to answer to the charges.
