(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On March 9, 2014, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a Chevrolet pickup that was speeding along the 401 Highway westbound near Charing Cross Road.
While the officer was speaking with the male driver, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages. A roadside test was completed which resulted in a warn range suspension.
The driver, a 52 year old from Chatham, was served with a ticket for speeding and a three day driver’s licence suspension.
His pickup truck was also towed away from the scene.
Chatham-Kent OPP would like to remind drivers that if you plan on drinking alcohol, it’s not worth taking the risk. Plan ahead by arranging for a designated driver, take a cab or stay overnight.
