(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in the driver facing a drug related offence.
On July 6, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 35 near Stoney Creek Road and subsequently stopped the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the presence of marihuana in the vehicle.
Daniel EASTMAN, 31 years of age, of Newcastle, was charged with possession of marihuana, under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as well as with speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused will appear in court on July 31, 2014.
