(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On October 10, 2014, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Charing Cross Road.
Just before 7:00 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Dodge Magnum that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 160 km/hr.
The driver, 42 year old Darrell CLEVELAND, from St. Catharines, has been charged with racing a motor vehicle. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
