Driver Charged In Road Rage Incident

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – A Bobcaygeon man faces two Criminal Code related charges after an incident of road rage occurred on Kawartha Lakes Road 36.

On September 24, 2018 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint. Initial investigation indicated that the complainant had been tail gated by a vehicle as they were driving on Kawartha Lakes Road 36. The two vehicles ended up at the same residence on West Street in Bobcaygeon, at which point there was a collision.

As a result of the investigation Cody Johnson, 30 years of age, was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on November 1, 2018.
