(RED LAKE, ON) – On May 7, 2015 at approximately 11:35 AM, Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol on Howey Street within the Municipality of Red Lake.
The OPP officers observed a vehicle on Howey Street; the vehicle then pulled into a parking lot and struck a cement pillar.
Police stopped the motor vehicle and determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device test was conducted and registered a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment for further testing.
Howard OWEN, age 37, of the First Nations Territory of Pikangikum, has been charged with Over 80 Milligrams contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and Driving while under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
OWEN is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on May 28, 2015 to answer to the charges.
