(TECUMSEH, ON) – On October 24, 2016 at approximately 1:19 a.m. the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) responded to a tractor trailer motor vehicle collision on Highway 401.
A white Freightliner carrying fresh and frozen food products for Walmart Canada struck a guardrail and subsequently tipped over onto its side in the westbound lanes near the 9th Concession of Tecumseh, Ontario.
There were no injuries reported.
Gurwinder CHHINA (M), age 24 of Hamilton, Ontario has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to Section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The Ministry of the Environment was contacted as there was a small diesel spill reported.
One lane of Highway 401 westbound between County Road 19 and Concession 9 of Tecumseh was closed for several hours as the vehicle was righted and removed.
