(Ottawa, ON) –The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has investigated a lost wheel incident on Highway 417.
At approximately 9:15 am, a motor vehicle travelling on Highway 417 westbound lost one of its wheels. After separation, the wheel bounced into the eastbound lanes and struck another vehicle.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 45 year old male driver of the vehicle which lost its wheel has been charged with operating an unsafe motor vehicle. He is scheduled to attend Ottawa court on June 24, 2016.
