DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED

(CALEDON, ON) – On March 10, 2014 at approximately 11:25 am, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 10. The officer stopped a southbound 2007 Freightliner commercial vehicle in the area of Old Baseline Road for a driving violation. An investigation on the driver revealed that he was prohibited from driving from a previous criminal code conviction.

As a result of the traffic stop, David Crane WORGAN, 57, of Mississauga was arrested and charged for Drive While Disqualified. He was also charged with drive motor vehicle on a highway while using a hand-held wireless communication device under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days under the Vehicle Impoundment Program for driving a vehicle while the operator’s driver’s licence is suspended for a previous Criminal Code offence.

The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on April 17, 2014.
