(BURPEE TOWNSHIP, ON) – In the early afternoon of August 19, 2016, a member of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Indian Point Rd., at Burpee Township, Ontario. A controlled substance and cash were found and seized. The driver and passengers were arrested.
Brandon Steven GUNSTEN, age 29 of Dawson Township, Ontario, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (cannabis marihuana) for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, possession of property obtained by crime, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor, contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor License Act of Ontario, and driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53 of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
Robert Matthew BUSH, age 28 of Toronto, Ontario, and Shane YELLOWHORSE, age 35 of Sheshegwaning First Nation, Ontario have been charged with possession of a controlled substance (cannabis marihuana) for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, possession of property obtained by crime, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada, and having open liquor in the vehicle, contrary to section 31(2) of the Liquor License Act of Ontario.
The accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay, Ontario on November 15, 2016.
