(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – On Saturday April 28, 2018 officers from the Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 540 in the Township of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands, Ontario.
At approximately 3:02 a.m., officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop.
As a result of the investigation, Drake HANNINEN, age 27, of Espanola, Ontario has been charged with:
Race a Motor Vehicle – Stunt contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused’s driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for 7 days. He is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Court of Justice in Espanola, Ontario on June 28, 2018.
