Downtown swarming

(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a recent swarming, where a female victim was assaulted and robbed of her phone.

On April 2, 2014, at approximately 9:30 pm, a female, age 28, was waiting for a bus in a shelter near Elgin/Slater. Two males approached her at which point one temporarily blocked her attempt to exit the shelter. When the male let her pass, the second male then struck the victim and stole her cellular phone. The victim was not injured. Following the robbery, the suspects attended a nearby retail establishment to sell the phone. The suspects were captured on video at the retail establishment.

The suspects are described as:

#1-Caucasian male, late twenties, small build, 5’7 (170 cm)
